CQ WW VHF Contest EME

Hello to everyone in the 2M EME community. This year, the CQ WW VHF Contest will be held July 15th and 16th. The contest begins at 1800Z on Saturday and ends at 2100Z on Sunday. We want to work as many EME stations on 2M as possible to increase our grid count. All new grids gratefully appreciated. Please help us with this event by working us on JT65b or Q65-60A. Thank you very much.

In the CQ contest, stations attempting digital EME contacts are allowed to post Call, Frequency, Mode, and Sequence ONLY to the various reflectors. This means that a station calling CQ in the contest will be able to post something like "144.142MHz....CQ CQ CQ de K5QE Second JT65b". That is what I usually post anyway. No other posts are allowed. Please look for us on the EME-1 page.

We can operate JT65b or Q65-60A. We will probably default to JT65b, but if you want to try Q65, just let us know on the EME-1 page and we can run that.

Full information at http://www.cqww-vhf.com/.

We have 2 moon passes this contest. The moon is already up at 1800Z on Saturday when the contgest begins. However, it is way to the west and useful only for a few Oceania stations. Nevertheless, we will be looking for EME contacts and will post accordingly. The moon rises for us at 1130Z on Sunday. This is the prime time for EU. The declination is very high, so this should be a prime moon pass.

With the new rules, everyone in the contest can look at the N0UK EME-1 reflector. If you work us, please spot us AND our frequency--that way, others can find us. Remember, we are NOT allowed to post the usual "Thank you" with contact information as we normally do. If you are not in the CQ contest, you can post to the reflectors freely. So you can talk to us, we will just not answer back....all we can post is Call, Frequency, Mode, and Sequence, NOTHING MORE. If you dont see us on 144.142MHz, please check back later because we may just be looking for stations to call or working a tropo station.

Good luck to all in the contest and we hope to see you there. Thank you.
